Schloss Ludwigsburg tour closed to babies

The Smith family watches the giant coy swim around the fountain water at Schloss Ludwigsburg.
We took the two-hour trip to visit my sister, Tasha, and her family over the Memorial Day weekend in Stuttgart. Our Saturday destination at Schloss Ludwigsburg ended up being a great park for the kids to romp and see fairy tales in action. We didn’t get to do the tour of the castle’s insides unfortunately because they didn’t allow baby backpacks or strollers of any sort and highly discouraged carrying babies along for the 90-minute tour. The garden around the castle was enormous and could have taken the entire day, but by the time we returned to the cars for a late lunch, the weather turned sour and we were exhausted and ready to leave. We’ll have to do another trip there sometime without the little ones to see the spectacular inside of the palace.
The kids found some roaming ducks in the gardens.
The palace gardens had a really old carousel that still worked!

Loralynn and I peeked through a gap in the palace maze.
The Smith family's favorite card game came out when we arrived.

The kids helped us deflate our air mattress bed in the morning.
