Beans glorious beans!

I busted out the beans again since our skies clouded over with rain this weekend. It's a fun "sand-box" type of activity for the girls and they love the feeling of digging in large amounts of beans with their toes and fingers. Plus it is such pourable fun!

Before the beans made their appearance, I spread a large sheet onto the floor where the beans will primarily reside. This makes clean up later a little simpler by just folding up the sheet with the beans inside and pouring them directlyinto storage containers. Usually there is still a lot to clean up that gets scattered off the sheet when play gets too exciting.
I believe our bean collection is around 12 bags worth now after using beans to fill table centerpieces at Loralynn's fourth birthday party last fall. Luckily they are only about $1 per bag at the grocery store. The girls had a lovely time pretend cooking, serving, eating, pouring, and growing bean stalks.
