Four-year-old showcase

Loralynn drew herself (left) and her sister Tana. Loralynn turned four years old at the end of October.
I received a bag of Loralynn's artwork that she had done at German Kindergarten just before Christmas break. The artwork in this bag is three months worth of coloring and drawing her imagination. We finally got to sit down in her bedroom and go through it tonight before bedtime. It was such a precious time. It took about 30 minutes for her to go through all the papers. I don't think Loralynn has ever talked so much to me in one sitting as when she was describing her pictures. For almost all of them, she had a definite plan for her drawing and she remembered all of them as we looked at each picture. Dan was in our bedroom at the time and when I mentioned her showing several of them to Daddy, she excitedly rushed to explain them to him, too.

On the last day of school in December she also cut out snowflakes with her substitute teacher Claudia. She was very excited about showing them to me when I picked her up. Tonight I provided tape and she wanted to put two of them on Tana's bedroom windows and one on hers. She was very excited to show Tana the snowflakes on Tana's window.

Since vacation has started, Loralynn has been around for Tana's naptime. When school is in session, she typically isn't home during Tana's nap except on Saturday and Sunday. Several times during our trip in Sicily (when Tana was sleeping next to her in the car) and couple times at home, Loralynn has voiced that she really needs to wake up Tana to tell her something. It's sweet to hear indirectly that she misses her sister and thankfully, she doesn't wake Tana up until given permission.

Blowing out candles the amateur way

We have been enjoying our German Christmas pyramid spin with the heat from candles during dinnertime most evenings this month. We have also been continuing to burn our advent candle wreath as well. The girls really enjoy blowing out the candles and they are still practicing the art. We got the super cute blowing on video. Enjoy below.
